Why is desalination more and more in demand and necessary?
In recent years, Europe has seen increasingly frequent droughts, restrictions and restrictions on water consumption, problems with water infrastructure on islands and cities, increased water prices and increased costs of delivering water to the location by tankers/water carriers.

How does a desalinizer work?
The process takes place in several technological steps.
1. Prefiltration
Seawater first passes through mechanical filters that remove: sand / silt / algae / suspended particles. With it, the sensitive membranes of the desalinizer are protected in this phase.
2. High-pressure pump
A special pump raises the water pressure to the level required to pass through the RO membranes. With seawater, the pressures are significantly higher than in standard drinking water systems.
3. Reverse osmosis
RO membranes separate: salt / minerals / microorganisms and impurities from clean water.
4. Container and processing
The produced water can be stored, enriched with minerals, i.e. remineralized, and disinfected.
How much does water produced by desalination cost?
One of the most common questions is: “Is desalination expensive?”
The answer depends on the comparison.
If a facility uses water supply by tankers/water carriers, expensive island connections, unstable water sources that either break down or run out of water during the season, then desalination often becomes extremely financially viable.
